Frequently Asked Questions

What does WOD stand for?

Workout of the day

Can I participate in classes if I have past injuries?

A lot of clients have had previous injuries and were affraid of starting a our program. By trusting the coaches they found relief from the pain by strengthening the muscles around the problem area. When you fear injury and stop working out you become deconditioned, weak, and more susceptible to injury in the future. Taking part in our classes will provide you a buffer so that you are less susceptible to these kinds of injuries. The movements and workouts are all completely scalable allowing anyone to take part.

Can you get hurt doing RSC classes?

You can injure yourself in any activity, even walking and a treadmill. With proper coaching, our training is safer than many activities people do everyday. We start with mechanics (learning how to do the movements with correct form). Once your form is solid, consistency is added to the mix (the ability to do the movements over and over again with safe and relatively efficient form). Finally intensity (the speed at which you do the movements). One does not come before the other. We always start with Mechanics.

I’ve heard functional training is really hard. Shouldn’t I be in shape first before starting?

I can not say this enough. Functional Fitness Classes are for EVERYONE!!!!! No matter what fitness level you are at, you will never be “fit” enough. That’s why coaches are here to offer scaling options for each athlete. That way you can perform the best at each workout at your personal level. It’s only as hard as you choose to make it. We encourage people to push their workouts to their limits for you know your body better than anyone. Only you can make the most out of your workouts. The most elite athlete can come into the gym and find a workout challenging. Fitness is a lifelong journey, we are never really “there”.
